A.M.A.C.A (Asociación de Mujeres Productoras Agropecuarias del Cauca), from the El Tambo, Cauca region of Colombia, is a unique coffee in that it is the result of a group of all women farm owners who support their livelihood and the livelihood of their families from the production of this coffee. With 140 active members today from three different villages, most farms average 1 hectare or a little over 2 acres.
Amaca is harvested and depulped on the same day, processed on individual farms and dried on raised beds inside of parabolic dryers. The mantra of this coffee is simple, they aim to improve the quality of life for their families.
Notes of sugary sweetness, with hints of cocoa, toffee, and citrus fruits.
